'' The International Academic Year is the most flexible long-term course we offer in English language studies.

The great advantage of this programme is your freedom to move between General English, Cambridge Exam Preparation and University Preparation*, and also to take advantage of the specialised English courses on the Options Programme.

The Year is designed for the highly motivated student who wishes to gain a thorough knowledge of the English language.

Course Possibilities
Normally, you will start by improving your general English. As the course progresses, you are encouraged to prepare for a number of examinations, including the prestigious University of Cambridge examinations, or to study University Preparation*.

If you follow the 24-lesson (A) or 28-lesson (AA) course, your opportunities increase considerably. You can study a number of subjects from the Options Programme. These may include Business English, IELTS Preparation, Tourism, Hotel and Hospitality or Media Studies. In addition, you could follow certain examination courses, such as the Cambridge PET and the Cambridge Business English Certificates. For full details of these subjects, please refer to the Options Programme.

For those going on to university in Britain, there is also a full-time University Preparation Pre-Masters and Pre-Bachelors Course to which you can transfer.
* Please note that the Foundation course is a full academic year, so it is not possible to transfer to this course.
Course Diploma
At the end of your Year, you will receive the Diploma of the International Academic Year. The Diploma shows all the courses and subjects you have studied. Together with the other diplomas, from Cambridge University for example, you will end your Year with an impressive portfolio.
