Course Description:
'' The goal of this course is to enable developers to begin capitalizing on the power of Extensible Markup Language (XML) Web Services in their applications and teach developers how to program with XML in the Microsoft .NET Framework in order to build Microsoft Windows or Web-based integrated applications that are easier to build and scale. This course teaches experienced software developers how Web Services can be used in solving common problems in the distributed application domain. This course teaches developers how to architect applications to take advantage of the new architecture available. Students will also learn how to build, deploy, and provide registration of your Web Services with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. The class also covers locating and consuming Web Services using Universal Description, Discover and Integrations (UDDI).
Audience
This course is intended for experienced Visual Basic developers who what to upgrade to Visual Basic .NET.
Prerequisites: This course requires that students meet the following prerequisites:
Experience with programming languages such as Visual Basic .NET or Visual C#.NET Experience using the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Developer environment Experience building applications using XSLT, XPath, and XML Schemas Understand how to read and write XML Have experimented with simple C# applications Have developed complex applications using COM in C++
