'' Sarbanes-Oxley has fundamentally changed enterprise governance, financial reporting, internal controls and auditing. Having survived the first year, companies are now encountering the difficulties associated with transitioning from a project based environment into a sustainable business as usual position where the benefits of compliance are maximised whilst associated costs are minimised. This transition has been further complicated by the recent significant legislative changes. Experience from the US has shown that Year 1 compliance is no guarantee of maintaining adequate internal control over financial reporting in future years.

During this fast-paced, two day seminar you will explore how to develop an ongoing compliance strategy that will let you capitalise on the benefits of Phase 1 of S-OX and review the key components of the Act that you need to focus on for Year 2 and beyond. You will gain an understanding of why companies need to build an efficient and effective compliance infrastructure that enables repeatable, reliable actions, and learn how technology can be part of the solution to establish and maintain an effective compliance program. You will obtain the background necessary to determine the specific roles/responsibilities you need to tackle on-going compliance efforts for your organisation. In addition, you will review the recent PCAOB/SEC guidance that recommends a top-down, risk-based approach to compliance that will ensure your organisation focuses on the right controls and eliminate unnecessary efforts.
