Course Description:
'' The transition to IFRS accounting is a major project for any company to go through. Reported profit and loss account figures will change and all staff involved in Financial Reporting from junior members of the team, through to Non-Executive Directors and the Audit Committee will need to understand the revised results and how to determine them. There may be significant impacts on your financial reporting systems and specific issues to consider in the year of transition, such as dual running under IFRS and your previous GAAP. Post transition, you will need to keep up to date with the regular new requirements and updates coming through from the IASB. This 3-day course is designed to assist Internal Auditors working for companies that have recently undergone the transition to IFRS or that are planning to transition in the near future. It highlights the key areas of any transition process including understanding IFRS requirements and focuses on those areas that are likely to crop up most often, or cause most difficulty, in practice. The course draws on the experience of the many companies that have already transitioned to IFRS. The course also looks at how compliance with IFRS is monitored and what the pitfalls are if you get it wrong. The course includes both presentation sessions and worked examples. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss delegatesown experiences and problems. ...''
