Course Description:

'' The Auditing the Treasury Function course, now in its fourteenth year, is designed for financial institution internal audit personnel engaged in the audit of their own Treasury dealing room and associated functions and is constantly revised and updated. The course gives participants the opportunity to discuss with fellow auditors and an experienced practitioner the financial market operations undertaken by their institutions, the associated market and operational risks and proven procedures for controlling and monitoring the same. All such procedures will be related back to the basic requirements contained in a typical financial institution’s Rule Book or Risk management manual and the international market association’s code of best practice - ACI Model Code (complimentary copy for every participant). A financial institution’s Compliance rules and accounting practices, where these relate to a Treasury market operation, will also be discussed. The more technical market risks involved in certain Foreign Exchange / Money market instruments / Repos / Treasury Derivatives and associated dealing techniques are also discussed during the course. The aim is that such techniques are more clearly understood and audit personnel will be more comfortable when examining such activities and/or discussing them with dealing management/dealers in their institution’s Treasury dealing room.

Prerequistses: The course is designed for internal audit personnel scheduled to participate in their financial institution’s dealing room and/or Treasury department inspections / internal audit visits, risk management, systems development or any other personnel to whom the seminar content could be useful or appropriate.
