'' Following a series of corporate scandals and frauds in the US and Europe, international investors and regulators put greater emphasis on good governance. They expect businesses to comply with the fundamental principles of good international corporate governance practice, particularly in the areas of oversight, assurance and risk management. But how can businesses ensure that they have the right elements in place to satisfy expectations? How can they implement effective assurance arrangements that will withstand external scrutiny and provide an appropriate degree of comfort to management and stakeholders?

During this intensive and interactive three-day seminar you will learn, using practical examples and case studies, how to establish the oversight, assurance and risk management processes essential for effective corporate governance. On Day 1 attendees will be introduced to the key principles of corporate governance and its importance to investors and regulators. Day 2 will explore the steps that need to be taken to develop the infrastructure by creating value-adding internal audit and risk management processes and by establishing effective audit committees that enjoy strong relationships with external audit, internal audit and the board. Day 3 will examine how these activities can be further developed and enhanced in line with international best practice to meet the changing demands of the business and its stakeholders.

During the seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to develop a practical action plan tailored to their own organisation.
