'' The National Certificate in Business (e-Business Strategy) will give you an in-depth knowledge of how business works, specialising in understanding how e-business has become an essential element of business success. The two years of study will lead to the BTEC National Certificate, which is equivalent to 2 A Levels.
Who Is This Course For? School leavers, international students and adults who are interested in learning about business and who would like to become part of the UK’s dynamic business culture through their understanding of business and the explosive increase in the use of e-business.
Entry Requirements: You should have 4 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C (including English and preferably Mathematics and ICT) or GNVQ Intermediate, BTEC First Diploma in a related subject with a Merit or Distinction grade. You will need to fill in an application form and attend an interview, which will give you the opportunity to ask detailed questions about the course. About the course You will be encouraged to develop the practical skills and essential know-how required for today’s competitive world of business. You will have the opportunity to develop both general and specialist management skills. This course considers the area of general business and the specialist area of e-business strategy which are key for students wishing to develop a career in business. You will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. In the first year, you will complete six modules, including subjects such as introduction to marketing; effective people, communication and information; introduction to the internet and e-business; website design strategies; investigating business resources; and exploring business activity. In the second year you will study an additional six modules, enabling you to achieve the National Certificate in Business (e-Business). These will include subjects such as understanding retailing, improving performance in the workplace, managing a business event, organising systems security, investigating supply chain management, and managing a business event.
Additional Opportunities There is the possibility of trips and visits relevant to your study.
How will I be assessed? All units are assessed via assignments. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded which has UCAS equivalence and is recognised by universities in the UK when establishing their entry requirements for higher education.
Where next? If you want a job straight away, you can work in many general management or trainee management positions in business, learning or government, or in a wide range of business functions in the internet environment, such as accounting and marketing. If you decide to go to university, you could take a HND in business or possibly a degree in management, marketing or web related subjects.
