About the course You will study networking basics including network terminology and protocols, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), open system interconnection (OSI) models, cabling, cabling tools, routers, router programming, ethernet, internet protocol (IP) addressing, and network standards. You will also study routers and routing basics, including initial router configuration, Cisco IOS software management, routing protocol configuration, TCP/IP and access control lists (ACLs). You will learn to configure a router, manage Cisco IOS software, configure routing protocols, and create access lists controlling access to the router.
Additional Opportunities There are no trips or visits on this course.
How will I be assessed? There is no formal assessment. You will receive a college certificate of attendance on completion of the course.
Where next? You may go on to Part 2 of the course. When you have successfully completed the full course you should, with extra study and practical experience, be able to go on and gain the industry recognised certification by taking the CCNA examination.
