'' The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (Windows Vista Ultimate Part 1) course consists of two parts, each held one evening per week for 9 weeks. It will teach you the knowledge and skills to configure Windows Vista for optimal performance on the desktop, including installing, managing, and configuring the new security, network, and application features in Windows Vista. This course is designed as a hands-on study aid to enable you to attain the Microsoft 70-620 MCTS certificate in Windows Vista Configuration.
Who Is This Course For? Those who wish to work as network professionals and/or develop their own knowledge of Windows Vista.

About the course PART 1 (Module 5115): installing and configuring the Windows Vista operating system, installing Windows Vista. Topics covered include upgrading to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition; configuring post-installation system settings; configuring basic networking; configuring advanced networking; configuring user account security; configuring network security; configuring Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0. PART 2 (Module 5116): configuring Windows Vista mobile computing and applications. Topics covered include maintaining and optimizing Windows Vista systems; configuring and troubleshooting Windows Vista media applications; configuring Windows Vista productivity applications; configuring mobile computers; configuring a Windows Vista tablet PC; networking mobile computers.
Additional Opportunities There are no trips or visits on this course.
How will I be assessed? There is no formal assessment, but you can sit the exam at an external authorised testing centre. You will receive a college certificate of attendance on completion of the course.
Where next? When you have successfully completed the course you should, with extra study and practical experience, be able to gain the industry recognised certification by taking the MCTS examination.
