'' This bricklaying course leads to a City & Guilds CITB Foundation or Intermediate Construction Award. If you have already completed the foundation level, this course will allow you to progress onto the next stage and work towards an intermediate level qualification. It is based in the bricklaying workshop at the Skills Centre in Feltham.
Who Is This Course For?
Students with an interest in bricklaying who wish to go on to a career in this field.
Entry Requirements:
For the foundation level, you do not need formal qualifications but you must have an interest in bricklaying. You will have an interview and initial assessment. For the intermediate level, you must have successfully completed the foundation level. You will need to fill in an application form and attend an interview, which will give you the opportunity to ask detailed questions about the course. About the course
You will study all aspects of bricklaying using different types of brick and block. You will build half-brick walls, solid walls, cavity walls and foundation work, and you will study craft-related theory.
Additional Opportunities
There may be an opportunity to visit other sites and the Building Exhibition.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through a combination of practical projects, written assignments and written tests. You will also have to complete a phase test and two multi-choice papers and provide work-based evidence.

The course provides a good grounding for you to progress onto a Level 3 course or start work.
