'' This carpentry and joinery course leads to a City & Guilds CITB Foundation or Intermediate Construction Award. If you have already completed the foundation level, this course will allow you to progress onto the next stage and work towards an intermediate level qualification. It is based in specialist industry-standard workshops at the Skills Centre in Feltham.

Who Is This Course For?
Students with an interest in carpentry and joinery who wish to go on to a career in this field.

Entry Requirements:
For the foundation level, you do not need formal qualifications but you must have an interest in carpentry and joinery. You will have an interview and initial assessment. For the intermediate level, you must have successfully completed the foundation level. You will need to fill in an application form and attend an interview, which will give you the opportunity to ask detailed questions about the course. About the course
You will study all aspects of site carpentry, including timber framing, flooring, roofing, door hanging, staircases, and all first and second fittings. The units are combined with technical underpinning knowledge related to the needs of the industry. You will also take a mandatory online health and safety test..

Additional Opportunities
There may be an opportunity to visit other sites and the Building Exhibition.

How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through a combination of practical projects, written assignments and written tests. You will also have to complete a phase test and two multi-choice papers and provide work-based evidence.
