Course Description:

'' The course will encourage you to develop the practical skills and essential know-how required for today’s rapidly expanding world of airline operation. You will have the opportunity to develop both general and specialist management skills. This course consists of a core of subjects to give you a general understanding of the aviation industry, and a large number of specialist subjects focused on developing your understanding of aviation operations. You will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. In the first year you will study six modules, including the aviation industry, meeting customer needs in the aviation industry, marketing in the aviation industry, air cargo operations, and airline and airport economics. In the second year you will study an additional six modules, including subjects such as health, safety and security in the aviation industry, airport ramp handling, airport operations, environmental impacts of aviation, and preparing for work in the aviation industry.

How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed via assignments. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded which has UCAS equivalence and is recognised by universities in the UK when establishing their entry requirements for higher education.

Where next?
If you want a job straight away, you can work in many general trainee management positions in aviation operations. If you decide to go to university, you could take an HND or possibly a degree in a related subject area.
