Pressure Relief Devices: Design, Sizing, Construction, Inspection and Maintenance

School/Trainer:

American Society of Mechanical Engineers
HOUSTON, SAN DIEGO, UNITED STATES

Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced

Course Description:

'' A pressure relief device is considered as the most important single safety device on a boiler or pressure vessel. If it fails to function for which it was designed, an overpressure condition occurs within the boiler or pressure vessel, resulting dangerous explosions. Acting as the last line of defense, this mechanical device saves human lives and property.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The purpose of this seminar is to offer an extensive course on design, construction, installation, operation, inspection and maintenance of pressure relieving devices used on boilers and pressure vessels.

Pressure relief devices are used to protect pressurized equipment from exceeding the maximum allowable working pressure. The code requirements for pressure relief devices are covered by the following ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code:
路 ASME Section I 鈥?Power Boilers
路 ASME Section III 鈥?Nuclear Systems
路 ASME Section IV 鈥?Heating Boilers
路 ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 鈥?Pressure Vessels
路 ASME Section XII 鈥?Transport Tanks
路 ASME B31.1 鈥?Power Piping

In addition, API RP 520 Part I 鈥?Sizing and Selection of Pressure Relieving Devices, and API RP 520 Part -2, Installation of Pressure Relief Devices are used in refineries.
