'' Supply Chain & Retail Management (SCRM) course introduces the concepts and techniques related to the design, planning, control and improvement of SCM, special inputs for managing, its retailing aspect. The focus is to understand the concepts of Supply Chain and Retail Management (SCRM), organizational needs towards SCM, decisions related to operations of SCRM, modeling and design tools in SCRM, value of information & IT-enablement of SCRM.
Objectives
Make the participants conversant in the language of Supply Chain and Retail Management, ERP & Enterprise Integration, application of quantitative and qualitative tools to analyze basic supply chain and retail management issues.
Help the participants see the role of SCRM in the overall strategy of the firm.
Analyse the strategic implications of Supply Chain Management decisions.
The course would deal with some of the common tools used by supply chain manager; such as forecasting, inventory planning and control, MRP, ERP, scheduling, quality, just-in-time systems, six sigma and Enterprise Integration, Retail chain Management, Store layout etc.
To pursue the objectives of the course, both theoretical inputs and case study approach would be followed. The aim is to equip the participants to learn the basics, recent developments, and application side of SCRM that impact the overall performance of these systems.

Module-4: Recent Trends in Supply Chain & Retail Management Lean, Agile and Le-agile Supply Chain, Strategies of Cycle time reduction, Integration of Supply Chain & Retail, Coordination in Retail & Supply Chain, Bullwhip - effect and its management, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Outsourcing and Postponement decision, Flexibility of Retail, Supply Chain 3PL and Cross docking, Integration of Supply chain entities, Role of CRM and Knowledge management in SCRM, IT-enabled Supply Chain/ Retail Management, e-Procurement, Performance Measurement in Retail, Supply chain, Reverse logistics, etc.
