'' SNAM is a hands-on course that provides network administrators with extensive experience in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers in an SNA environment. SNAM is tailored toward administrators who have a strong background in TCP/IP, but little or no SNA background.
SNAM includes an introduction to SNA fundamentals, an introduction to bridging, routing and switching, and culminates in a discussion of the Cisco IOS SNA features. Students will work with routers and gain an in-depth understanding of Ciscos software features and configuration techniques.
Course Objectives
Although each chapter in the SNAM 12.0 course includes objectives, there is one overall objective for the entire course. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to configure Cisco routers to operate in mixed SNA and non-SNA internetworks.
Students will be able to configure a Cisco router for operation in an SNA environment Students will be able to define and discuss key SNA terms and concepts used in router software configuration Students will be able to define terms, identify issues and configure routing software for common bridging operations Students will be able to configure router software to perform mixed media and Data Link Switching Plus (DLSw+) bridging operations Students will be able to explain the functions that a Cisco router can and cannot perform in a traditional SNA network environment Course Outline SNAM Course Introduction
