'' The MGX ATM Edge Switch Configuration (MAESC) course teaches learners how to set up a Private Network-Network Interface (PNNI) network that supports ATM and Layer-3 services on MGX 8830, 8850-PXM1E, 8850-PXM45, and 8950 switches. The course starts with an explanation of setup procedures for the MGX switch family. The course focuses on the ATM physical interface configuration as well as on creation of virtual circuits on various cards. In addition, the Internet Protocol (IP) configuration steps on connection routers and Route Processor Module (RPM) are covered as well.


Objectives
After finishing this module, the student will be able to:
Configure MGX 8830, 8850-PXM1E, 8850-PXM45, and 8950 ATM PNNI switches from isolation into a network that supports ATM and Layer 3 (IP) services.
Operate and monitor the MGX network once traffic is established


Importance
The MAESC course is highly recommended to students setting-up the PNNI network supporting the ATM and Layer 3 services.
