Course Description:
'' If you wish to make a career in Information Technology or IT as it is commonly called, then the best place to start is in computer programming. From this point on the possibilities for growing in the industry are simply enormous, but you must have a firm base from which to commence and the language that is still used most is COBOL.
COBOL, which stands for Common Business Oriented Language, was the first language that could be used on any computer and therefore became the most widely used computer language in the world and this is still the case today. The reasons for this are as follows:
Over the years, companies have spent billions in developing their computer systems and there is no way they can afford to to dump these and start again from scratch. COBOL is a very structured computer language making it relatively easy to learn other 4GL languages. For this reason, many companies will take trained COBOL programmers and then send them on a short course to learn another language. It is estimated that over 70% of all commercial computer programs today, are written in COBOL.
Our COBOL course is divided into three sections and these are:
Introduction to Information Technology. Elementary COBOL Programming. Advanced COBOL programming. ...''
