Learning IT¡¯s accreditations include being an accredited CompTIA Network+ Training Provider and a full Cisco Learning Partner. The Programme runs in our excellent training facilities in Stirling, and leads to formal certification recognised world wide. It covers all topics required to achieve the Network+ Certification and the Cisco Certified Network Associate certifications.
Learning IT has been running programmes for military resettlement for several years and is a preferred supplier to the Career Transition Partnership.
The Programme includes:-
6 weeks full time training comprising 15 days instructor-led training covering Network+ and Cisco training including the official Cisco ICND (Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices course) course, plus 15 days structured study time with access to instructors to prepare for the Network+ and CCNA exams. Comprehensive technical training manuals (including Cisco Learning Partner official material for the Cisco part of the Programme) 2 VUE testing vouchers for Network + and Cisco exams (Exams taken at Learning IT) Comprehensive set of preparation examination questions Accommodation (MOD delegates)
* Note although the programme is usually undertaken as a 6 week course, delegates can if they wish undertake only the Network+ certification, or (subject strictly to meeting pre¨Crequisites) undertake only the Cisco part of the Programme.
Network+ Certification
Network+ certification is a ¡®non vendor specific¡¯ certification and covers the general principals of networks and the technology behind them. It also covers the pre-requisites for the ICND course (Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices) which leads to the CCNA qualification (Cisco Certified Network Associate).

Cisco CCNA Certification
Cisco certification validates an individuals achievement, so it increases the holders professional credibility by ensuring high standards of technical expertise. In particular, the CCNA certification indicates knowledge of networking for the Small Office, Home Office (SOHO) market and the ability to work in small businesses or organizations whose networks have fewer than 100 nodes.
A CCNA can do the following: • Install and configure Cisco switches and routers in multi-protocol internetworks using LAN and WAN interfaces • Provide Level 1 troubleshooting service • Improve network performance and security
Positions for a CCNA include: • Help desk engineer • Field technician • Level 1 systems engineer • Level 1 systems integrator
Course outline
Overview: This course works through the concepts, commands, and practical knowledge necessary to configure Cisco switches and routers in multi-protocol internetworks. Delegates will be taught through theory, demonstrations, and practical lab exercises to be able to identify and recommend the best Cisco solutions for small to medium-sized businesses. Delegates will perform all basic configuration procedures to build a multi-router, multi-group internetwork that uses LAN and WAN interfaces for the most commonly used routing and routed protocols.
Specifically, the Cisco ICND (Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices) element of the programme provides the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting information that technical support people require to install and configure Cisco products.

Getting Started with Cisco Networks Introduces students to the Cisco IOS user interface, various hardware interfaces and associated issues of cabling and physical connectivity. Course Introduction Selecting Cisco Network Devices Assembling and Cabling Cisco Network Devices Operating and Configuring a Cisco IOS Device Managing Your Network Environment Interconnecting Cisco Switches Discusses switch fundamentals in a networked environment. Catalyst Switch Operations Extending Switch Functionality Interconnecting Cisco Routers Focuses on routed and routing protocols supported by Cisco IOS software. Configuring IP Addressing Adding Basic IP Routing Protocols Basic IP Traffic Management with Access Lists Configuring Novell IPX
