Course Description:
'' Kaizen Participants will learn how to structure a Kaizen event, including pre-event preparation, tools and forms to be used, and how to document results. From this, they will understand the necessity of a structured approach to Kaizen. As a result of this session, participants will clearly understand the difference between kamikaze Kaizens and Kaizen that is driven as directed by the future state map.
Setup Reduction Participants will learn to break a setup down into four individual tasks: internal, external, adjustment, and actual setup. They will be exposed to examples of techniques used to reduce and/or eliminate unnecessary activities. Participants will understand why quick changeovers are critical to key business metrics such as capacity, and thus represent a direct impact to inventory levels.
Mistake Proofing In this session, a foundation of mistake-proofing concepts will be established. Devices and techniques for achieving mistake-proofing effects to prevent or detect errors will be explored. Lastly, participants will be shown how mistake-proofing fits into a structured problem-solving process. ...''
