'' This online Master of Science in Nursing degree, with a concentration in forensic nursing, prepares graduates for a wide variety of specialty areas, such as sexual assault nurse, nurse coroner, nurse investigator, forensic psychiatric nurse, forensic correctional or institutional nurse, clinical nurse specialist, legal nurse consultant or expert witness, among others. The program is in collaboration with the Duquesne University School of Law’s Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law.
School of Nursing course work is offered in an online format. Students have the option of taking The Wecht Institute classes either online or in person.
This program is based upon and consistent with the mission and philosophy of Duquesne University. The Master of Science in Nursing degree requirements can be completed on a full-time (6 credits per semester) or part-time basis. After being accepted for admission to the MSN program, each student is assigned a faculty advisor who will assist the student in completion of a Program Plan. Students have up to six years to complete the program.
