'' Courses in advanced health assessment, disease management, advanced skills, and pharmacology is required. Our highly skilled faculty, along with our very talented group of preceptors, provides excellent classroom and clinical experiences for students. In addition to multiple area specialties, which include pediatrics, family, emergency, and adult nurse practitioner certification, faculty have numerous publications and research activities to their credit and maintain active roles in many of the professional associations specifically linked to their specialties.
The curriculum has all the components of the nurse practitioner advanced practice role as recommended by the National Organization for Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) and is consistent with that defined by the Florida Board of Nursing requirements and regulated by Florida Statutes for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs). Clinical experiences are structured to meet prerequisites for writing certification examinations as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
