'' This course is an introduction to the wide-range of French-language literary works outside of France via novels and short stories by Francophone writers from Africa, Maghreb, Quebec, Vietnam, and the Caribbean Islands.

In this course you will:

Discover the vast dimension of francophone writers throughout the entire world
Appreciate the breadth of their linguistic range and, in certain cases, the influence of their native language on French
Learn to appreciate the varied and rich styles of written expression of these writers
Understand the impact these writers exert on French literature
Analyze the history of Europe as seen through their eyes
