'' This course is concerned with discovering and improving organizational processes used to develop and maintain high-quality software systems in a timely and economical manner. Issues of organizational change are considered from multiple perspectives: technical, organizational/managerial, and psychological/social. Major themes to be discussed include:
Organizational culture and the psychology of change Roles and responsibilities of sponsors and change champions Organizing for effective change Software maturity frameworks: CMM, PSP, TSP, SPICE Process assessment and modeling Tailoring process models to fit local circumstances

Students will select and complete a term project on a software process improvement topic of their choosing.
