Course Description:

'' CCLCS is a leader in TESL/TEFL training. We have been training teachers since 1991 and were one of the first programs to be recognized by TESL Ontario and TESL Canada. We have trained over 3,000 teachers who have gone on to teach across Canada and around the world.

Courses offered by CCLCS

CCLCS offers two certificate programs: a shorter course leading to an internationally known TESL certificate recognized by TESL Canada and an expanded program leading to a TESL certificate recognized by TESL Ontario. These programs can be taken full-time or part-time.

1) TESL Canada recognized course for teaching abroad and in private language schools in Canada: 135 Hours (Semester I)

TESL/TEFL Core Course: 100 hours
ESL classroom observations: 10 hours
Supervised Teaching Practicum: 25 hours
2) TESL Ontario recognized course: 315 hours (Semester II)

TESL Canada course (See above): 135 hours
TESL Core Course:110 hours
Additional modules and ESL classroom observations: 46 hours
Supervised Teaching Practicum: 25 hours
Our program offers a solid base in both the theory and practice of teaching ESL to adults. Topics covered include: ESL Methodologies, Communicative Language Teaching, Grammar, Lesson Planning, Teaching the Four skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening), Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, Student Assessment, Cultural issues in the classroom

Flexibility and Convenience

CCLCS offers students a tremendous amount of flexibility. They can take full or part time classes. They can take our 135 hour TESL Canada recognized course and be qualified to teach. Then they can come back in the future and continue with our second semester to earn their TESL Ontario recognized certificate. All TESL/TEFL classes are held in our comfortable downtown site near Bathurst and Bloor.
