'' Course Description: " This course is ideal for a person who is interested in entering the world of Information Technology to work as an IT professional. A+ is a widely recognized qualification in the computer industry and will help you to gain entry-level position as computer service technician or as help desk support person. This is a required course to understand any networking course.
You will learn about the various components of a PC, to Install, configure and upgrade computers, diagnose & troubleshoot various software and hardware related problems. Learn about safety, preventive measures, printers, portable systems, networking principals, file management etc. The A+ certification is divided into two broad areas of coursework, hardware and software. The hardware part will teach you about the inside of a PC, what it does and how to fix it when it is not functioning properly. You will learn the makeup of PC memory, disk systems, and peripheral devices such as printers. You will also learn about boot files, system errors, networking fundamentals and general troubleshooting techniques.
The software part of the course will add to the skills you have built up in studying the hardware and will cover how best to set up and install devices to run in a windows environment. Software courses also cover operating systems as well as media and network design, structured cabling and basic network management.
To become A+ certified, you will need to pass two exams, the A+ certification exam and the A+ Operating System examination. These exams measure essential competencies for desktop computer hardware service as well as determine your basic knowledge of installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop computer systems at a standard defined by the exam specification.
