'' Yoga is one of the most popular forms of exercise and interest in it is growing constantly. Learn how to design and run group yoga classes for your clients to enhance flexibility, strength and posture and relieve stress. On completion of the course, participants will be able to:



· Describe the benefits of yoga exercise.

· Describe the major anatomical, physiological, skeletal and risk factors of basic yoga movement

· Demonstrate, explain, spot some of the most common yoga postures used for strength training, flexibility and cardiovascular exercise for clients

· Explain the particular health concerns and contraindications for yoga exercise

· Design a basic yoga exercise programme for individual clients

· Teach a basic yoga exercise in fitness, health club and group exercise studio

The 20-hour Fitness Yoga Instructor Training course is made up of five modules as follows.

- Yoga in Thailand

2. Yogic anatomy

- Chakras

- Bodies

3. Yogic breathing

- Long Deep Breathing

- Benefits of Long Deep Breathing

- Timing

4. Basic yoga asana practice

- Standing, seated, prone, supine and inverted poses

- Balancing Posture

- Sun Salutation

- Breathing and Asana yoga

5. Meditation and Relaxation

- Meditation procedures

- Relaxation process

- Relaxing Poses

- Timing

6. Teaching yoga asana

- Smooth and continuous poses

- Presentation techniques

- Transition techniques

7. Yoga program design

- Frequency of Practice

- Program components

- Safety & Injury Prevention

- High-risk Poses

- Monitoring intensity

8. Group class teaching considerations

Prerequisites:



This course has been designed for persons with an education in Physical Education, Sports or Exercise Science, as well as fitness instructors and/or personal trainers who wish to teach basic yoga.
