'' Gain an understanding of international trade, including the exchange of goods, services and factors across national borders and the impact of this trade on domestic and global economies. You will explore how the growing interdependence of nations through trade has led to episodes of trade conflict, protectionism, The World Trade Organisation (WTO) and arbitrary government interference. You will also compare global and regional trade arrangements, free trade agreements and liberalisation. This unit places emphasis on trade issues in developing economies, especially the Newly Industrialising Economies in East Asia. Explore the close relationship between direct investment and international trade. Rapid change in the international business environment challenges managers to respond appropriately and effectively.
