Course Description:
'' The Academy offers a Diploma of Arts (Graphic Arts) and Advanced Diploma of Arts (Graphic Design) in which students learn practical application of design theories in a studio environment. The Diploma course develops skills for industry-relevant software used in desktop publishing. Skills developed can be used to complete projects such as, annual reports, advertising layouts, magazine layouts, corporate logos & stationery, and poster & brochure design. Students are also introduced to the world of web site authoring.
The Advanced Diploma course further develops design skills, focusing on web design, packaging and marketing. Students design and author fully functional & interactive web site presentations. Many projects completed are for real-life clients, teaching important project management and client liaison skills.
You receive hands-on experience, using the latest technology, in ABAs Graphic Design Studio. The studio operates with iMacs and a G3, as well as the latest versions of all industry-relevant software.
This Graphic Design course has earned strong recognition within the industry and Academy students are increasingly being offered the opportunity to participate in real design projects which offer them first hand experience of negotiating a client brief, developing design concepts and carrying the job through to completion (including the print stage).
