'' This course is studied as a set of subjects each of which enables a student to learn a specific set of skills and acquire knowledge specifically related to the visual effects industry. Each of these subjects is underpinned by one or more competencies which describe the requirements of assessment of the subject. The content of the material delivered has been selected to satisfy the needs of the industry targeted by this course.
Students will gain skills in the areas of:
* previsualisation (specification and design of audio visual sequences);
* digital modelling in both 2D and 3D (inorganic and organic forms);
* animation;
* texturing and lighting within 3D digital environment;
* production techniques involving appropriate use of cameras and lighting;
* editing of rendered and filmed sequences; and
* post production techniques involving - composting of rendered and filmed sequences and - mixing audio to support the visual sequences. ...''
