Course Description:
'' Cisco’s CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is an intermediate-level certification for IT professionals who can “install, configure, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks for enterprise organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes.�The CCNP Certification has as its prerequisite the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), and covers content such as: “security, converged networks, quality of service (QoS), virtual private networks (VPN) and broadband technologies.�
The CCNP got its start several years ago and has been recently changed in the summer of 2003, with the introduction of the Composite exam. There is a four exam, three exam and two exam path to the CCNP. The CCNP is valid for three years. To recertify, the candidate must pass the Composite exam. “Recertifying at the Professional level automatically renews the related CCNA certification.�
Job roles of those pursuing this certification generally include: network administrator, LAN administrator, and network infrastructure administrator.
Courses
Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks�(BSCI) is a core requirement for the four-exam path to the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, a core requirement for the three-exam path to the Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) certification, and a core requirement for the Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) certification. It is a mid level exam for IT professionals who have the “knowledge and skills necessary to use advanced IP addressing and routing in implementing scalability for Cisco routers connected to LANs and WANs.� Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks�(BCMSN) is a core requirement for the four-exam path to the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, and a core requirement for the three-exam path to the Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) certification. It is a mid level exam for IT professionals who have the “knowledge and skills necessary to build scalable multilayer switched networks; create and deploy a global intranet, and implement basic troubleshooting techniques in environments that use Cisco multilayer switches for client hosts and services.� Building Cisco Remote Access Networks�(BCRAN) is a core requirement for the three-exam and four-exam paths to the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification. It is a mid level exam for IT professionals who have the “knowledge and skills necessary to describe, configure, operate, and troubleshoot WAN and remote access solutions Internet Troubleshooting Support�(CIT) is a core requirement for the two-exam, three-exam and four-exam paths to the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification. It is a mid level exam for IT professionals who have the “knowledge and skills necessary to troubleshoot sub-optimal performance in a converged network environment. ...''
