'' The chemical industry is very diverse with technology ranging from the relatively basic to the very sophisticated. This package of certificates is designed to provide a balanced program of practical, technical and theoretical training relevant to a plant operator in the chemical and oil refining or distribution industries. Graduates will have competencies in the areas of health, safety, environment, quality and productivity. The certificates also offer the opportunity to integrate on and off the job training.


Qualification & Recognition: This certificate is a stand alone qualification, recognised by industry and educational institutions at state and national levels and complies with the National Qualifications Framework.


Job Prospects: It is expected that students undertaking this training will already be employed in the chemical industry. However, these qualifications are gaining recognition as vehicles for entry into the industry.


Who Can Apply: Those currently employed, or seeking employment, in the chemical industry.

Please note: Preference will be given to applicants already employed within the chemical industry.



Selection Criteria: Successful completion of Year 10 is required. Applicants without Year 10 are required to satisfactorily complete a bridging program prior to acceptance into the course. Applicants should also demonstrate motivation to undertake and complete the course through the provision of references.
