'' This course aims to provide participants with practical training in a range of key sectors within the rapidly growing tourism and hospitality industries. It is intended to develop the skills and knowledge required for planning and servicing in sectors such as meetings, conferences, events, food & beverage & kitchen operations, as well as other tourism and hospitality related areas. The program has been designed to incorporate key learning areas of event management, hospitality management, and marketing units to ensure greater career opportunities. Qualification & Recognition: Upon successful completion, students are eligible to receive a dual qualification: Diploma of Event Management and Diploma of Hospitality Management. Graduates may also seek recognition for units completed within this program to achieve the Diploma of Business as well as their dual qualification. Career Opportunities: Events and Hospitality are dynamic industries, offering a broad range of career opportunities. Event management skills can lead to employment in the fast growing meetings and conference sector, event planning roles for local and international major events such as festivals, sporting events and concerts, exhibitions or wedding coordination. Hospitality skills can also lead to employment within management roles in the food and beverage sector. In addition, career opportunities aslo exist for bothsikill sets within hotels, clubs, restaurants, casinos or function centres. Who Can Apply: People who have successfully completed VCE Year 12, or equivalent certificate programs, or those individuals defined as mature age (mature age is defined as being at least 18 years of age and away from formal study for at least one year). These industries are a people industry where face-to-face contact with customers is an essential part of the working environment. The following attributes are vital to succeed within the industry:
