'' This course provides participants with practical training across a range of key sectors within the rapidly growing tourism industry. It is intended to develop the skills and knowledge required for planning and servicing within sectors such as meetings, conferences and events, as well as other tourism related areas.
The program has been designed to incorporate the key learning areas of event management, marketing and e-business to highlight the range of career opportunities you can explore within the industry. Qualification & Recognition: Upon successful completion, students are eligible to receive a dual qualification: Diploma of Event Management and Diploma of Tourism (Marketing & Product Development).
Graduates may also seek recognition for units completed within this program to achieve the Diploma of Business in addition to their dual qualification.
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring your skills acquired through work or life experiences, or through qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment, issued bvy any other Registered Training Organisation, will be recognised by the Institute. Contact Holmesglen to obtain an information brochure. Career Opportunities: The Tourism and Hospitality industries offer a broad range of career opportunities whthin the events secort. Event management skills can lead to employment in the fast growing meetings and conference sector, event planning roles for exhibitions or local and international major events such as festivals, sporting events and concerts, charity events, or wedding coordination. In addition, the Marketing skills learnt in the course may lead to employment within the marketing, public relations, event coordination and management. Who Can Apply: People who have successfully competed VCE Year 12, or its equivalent or individuals defined as mature age (mature age is defined as being at least 18 years of age and away from formal study for at least one year. This industry is a people industry where face-to-face contact with customers is an essential part of the working environment. The following attributes are vital to succeed in this industry:
