Course Description:
'' The course is a 2 year full-time program designed to prepare participants with training in key sectors of the rapidly growing sports, recreation and events industries. It combines theory and practical training in a vocationally oriented manner. Participants will develop skills in sport and recreation event management, sports administration and management and facilities administration and management.
Development of students knowledge and skills can lead to employment opportunities in areas of sport and recreation event management, sports and facilities administration or organisations. It is also possible to complete the Certificate III in Fitness at the same time and further enhance your career opportunities.
Qualification & Recognition: Upon successful completion of the course, participants are eligible to receive the dual qualifications of Diploma of Sport and Recreation and Diploma of Event Management (Sport & Recreation). Graduates may also seek recognition for units completed within this program to achieve the Diploma of Business.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring their skills acquired through work or life experiences, or through qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF Qualifications and Statements of Attainment, issued by any other Registered Training Organisation, will be recognised by the Institute.
Career Opportunities: Vocational training is emphasised throughout the course. On successful completion of the course , participants may be employed by sport or fitness organisations, sporting bodies or various allied health organisations.
Who Can Apply: Students who have successfully completed VCE, or its equivalent.
Individuals defined as mature age (mature age is defined as being at least 18 years of age and away from formal study for at least one year).
