DB2 Version 7. Class is suitable for those using DB2 version 5 or 6 also. CICS TS Version 2.4. Class is suitable for earlier versions fo CICS.
Benefits
Students who complete this course will be able to code SQL statements to access DB2 objects in CICS pseudo-conversational programs. The student also learns the performance tradeoffs inherent in specific design alternatives, and how to administer the DB2 / CICS attachement facility.
Audience
Experienced DB2 programmers and Data Base Analysts who will design and implement DB2 Data Bases.
Prerequisites
Students should have 6 months recent experience in designing and coding application programs using SQL in DB2, 6 months experience in a CICS application environment (CICS, IMS/DB/DC, TSO, or batch), and recent experience using ISPF/PDF, especially the text editor and should be able to code JCL to run simple batch jobs or completed the "DB2 Application Programming" and the "CICS Command Level Coding" courses within the last 12 months.
