Course Description:

'' An introduction to conversational Italian. You will gain a good grounding in spoken Italian, particularly useful if you are travelling to Italy.

The course focuses mainly on the present tense, enabling you to say what activities you are (or are going to be) involved in.

It gives you the linguistic competence to handle (politely and competently) situations such as:

being a customer in cafés and restaurants
going shopping
travelling by bus and train
making enquiries
visiting places as a tourist
staying at hotels.
Required text: Buongiorno Italia (Joseph Cremona, London: BBC, 2005). This course covers chapters 1 to 8.
