In the beginning level one studies basic fundamental vocabulary grammar, structure of Italian, the sound system, to understand, speak, read and write in Italian. Tapes are used to aid pronunciation, Answering questions on comprehension of simple text, simple description from day-to-day life situation, stimulated dialogues and role playing. The culture of the Italian -speaking people is studied.
After the completion of the course the student is able to:

Ø Comprehend the spoken language from vocabulary used in text.

Ø Read and understand the language from material of this level.

Ø Recognize correct sound patterns.

Ø Write exercises manipulating grammatical items studied.

Ø Know cultural elements of the Italian societies.

Ø Be able to carry on a conversation within the framework of the vocabulary studied.
