'' Eligibility for this course: Knowledge of Portuguese Intermediate

Structure of the course:
This level covers Portuguese advanced level grammar and vocabulary and offers continued practice in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The student will keep up with the current topics discussed within the Portuguese basic and intermediate class, as well as participate in several additional reading and writing assignments of a more complex nature.

After completion of this course one is confident to:

Ø Read Portuguese with higher comprehension.

Ø Write with increasing complexity and use an expanded vocabulary.

Ø Converse in an extended conversation using vocabulary studied.

Ø Understand Portuguese used in the text and supplementary materials.

Ø Translate from English to Portuguese and demonstrate grammatical skills.

Ø Acquire a greater understanding of the Portuguese culture.

Ø Formulate questions and answers based on material read in class.

Ø Formulate questions and answers based on unfamiliar material.

Ø Special Projects: Workbook, Project work and library research.

Duration: Two and half months.
