'' Electronics and Communication Engineering is a profession that integrates available and emerging technologies with knowledge of mathematics and natural, social, and applied sciences to conceptualize, design, and implement new, improved, or innovative electronic, computer and communication systems, devices, goods, services and processes. Graduates of this course must have knowledge of hardware systems especially in electrical networks, electronics, and VLSI.
BS Electronics and Communications Engineering (BS ECE) requires two trimesters of internship in a locally recognized engineering or engineering-related institution to let students apply the knowledge of design and analysis to the practice of electronics engineer professionally. It also includes one trimester of 9-unit integration program to prepare would-be graduates to the Professional Regulations Commission administered licensure examinations for Electronics and Communications Engineering.
The field of specialization covered by this course includes broadcast communications, telecommunications, semiconductor device fabrication and manufacturing, VLSI design, instrumentation and telemetry, signal processing, integrated optics, industrial electronics and biomedical electronics.
