'' This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to perform massages for relaxation and health purposes. You will learn skills to assess a client’s massage needs and plan and conduct a remedial massage based on a knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and using skills in a wide range of soft tissue massage techniques. You will also learn to work safely and ethically in a health care environment, to communicate effectively with clients and other health care workers and to operate your own massage practice. During this qualification you will be required to conduct and complete a large number of massages of varying types, work on a variety of community clients and attend and work in and with the massage industry.
Want to make others feel good? A Diploma of Remedial Massage is a comprehensive course of study where you will learn to assess a client’s massage needs, and plan and conduct a remedial massage, based on your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and a range of massage techniques.
At Thornlie Campus, this qualification is taught in a live work environment. A massage clinic is held on campus where other students, staff, friends, and the general public can book in for a session, which provides students with the opportunity for hands-on massage practice. A small fee is charged for the massage sessions to cover the cost of materials.
This course provides training for persons wishing to work as a massage specialist within the health environment. The qualification covers the remedial level of skill in massage, The skills are taught within an overall remedial massage framework and holders of this qualification would work in conjunction with practitioners of other massage and complementary areas of practice. ...''
