'' This qualification provides you with the theoretical requirements for the Private Pilot’s Licence and the Commercial Pilot’s Licence of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) examination. A commercial pilot flies in command of single pilot aircraft. To apply for the Private Pilot’s Licence there is also a requirement to complete 40 hours of flying time in an appropriate aircraft, and for a Commercial Pilot’s Licence, 150 hours flying time is required. You must also pass a specialised Class 2 medical examination. You will learn about aircrafts, aerodynamics, meteorology, airplane performance, navigation, flight rules and radio telephony.

Successful completion of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to take the CASA examination for a commercial pilot’s licence. This licence provides you with the opportunity to pursue a career as a charter pilot, pilot of scenic flights, survey pilot, aerial photographic pilot, aero-medical pilot (eg RFDS) and low level agriculture pilot.
