'' This qualification will provide you with practical skills and knowledge used in the automotive mechanical trades, light and heavy vehicle. You will learn a broad range of skills to help you decide which area of automotive you wish to follow. As part of this qualification you will undertake a supervised work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.
Learn how to repair electrical circuits, use and maintain testing equipment and measuring devices, service and repair batteries, remove and tag automotive electrical system components and much more. This qualification will give you the advantage when you approach an employer for an apprenticeship.
Swan TAFE is the only TAFEWA College in the State that offers this qualification. Carlisle Campus is WA’s major centre for automotive studies and panel beating. Automotive apprentices and pre-apprentices at Swan TAFE enjoy access to hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to train on, including vehicles, specialised automotive repair and diagnostic equipment, fully equipped spray painting ovens, specialised workrooms and workshops.
