'' From 1st April 2008 skippers of recreational vessels with a motor equal to or greater than 6 HP are required by law to hold a Recreational Skippers Ticket. The qualification is based on a set of marine safety competencies that a skipper is required to demonstrate. The Recreational Skippers Ticket has 2 parts; a Theory Test and a Practical Test. Both parts can be completed through the College. You must pass your theory exam before you can book a practical exam.
