Course Description:

'' To instruct personnel to safely and practically respond to minor spills within the workshop, factory, plant or external work area using correct procedures, equipment and conventions.

Content Discuss individual and company responsibilities in response to workplace oil spills
Identify the characteristics; purpose and use of different types of spill control absorbents and the method of application
Demonstrate the appropriate response to an oil spill in the workplace

Delivery This course has both theoretical and practical elements.

Theory elements will be delivered in the classroom; students will be supplied with a manual to support the presentation.
Practical: Students will participate in simulated workplace spill exercises where they will demonstrate the use of Spill Response Equipment and perceive the different characteristics of the various pollution control products

Assessment Students will be required to pass a written test on the theory elements delivered in the classroom and participate in the correct use of response equipment in oil simulation exercises.

Certification A Certificate of Training will be given to each student.
