'' Auslan is Australian for Sign Language. Sign Language has been in existence in some form for thousand years and has evolved to become a fomrally recognised language. Based on other international sign languages Auslan allows easy visual communication with deaf and non-vocal members of our society. This course introduces you to some of the 4000 plus signs in the Auslan vocabuary and will look at key issues such as: hand shape combination, palm oreintation, and movement, use of space, facial expressions, body language as well as finger spelling.
