Course Description:
'' This course is designed to give participants the necessary skills to carry out basic welding using the SMAW process to a standard consistent with AS1554 GP. The training also covers basic welding knowledge including, welding safety; welding regulations; joint terminology; electrode types; distortion control, and workmanship practices.

There are no pre requisites for this course.
Course Content
The training plan is based on a Unit of Competency from the Metals and Engineering Training Package within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF):
MEM5.15AB - Weld using Manual Metal Arc Welding process
Upon successful completion of this training the participant should be competent to:
�Prepare materials for welding
�Select welding machine settings and electrodes
�Assemble and set up welding equipment
�Use methods to control distortion
�Welding materials by the correct process to the AS 1554 GP
�Inspect welds and correct faults

Batam, Indonesia & International
Successful candidates will be issued with an Australian Skills Training Certificate of Competency
Duration
80 hours over 10 days.
