'' This half day practical course is aimed at those social care workers who require thorough training in the use of any equipment they will be using with clients in their care. These care workers will be given the opportunity to learn about and try out the equipment before using it to move and handle a person. They will have the opportunity to practice on other colleagues and then be supervised whilst using it for the first time with a client. Training will include teaching staff the importance of documenting what method of moving and handling a person is to be used by the team as well as the exact type of equipment, for example, the name of the hoist and the size of the sling.
