'' Who should enrol in this qualification?

People who would like to work in the clothing industry.
People looking for a change in career.
People who have completed Certificate III in Clothing Production or Certificate III in Applied Fashion Design and Technology.
People who have completed some units in Certificate IV in Clothing Production or Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and now want the entire qualification.
People who would like to gain specific skills by completing some units and not the entire qualification.
People currently working in the clothing industry and wanting to gain a qualification.
Do I need any skills?

Entry into this qualification maybe either direct or via Certificate III in Applied Fashion Design and Technology. For direct entry there are some units requiring prerequisites. As well, the Clothing and Textiles Selection Criteria outlines the following, it is desirable for students to have:

the ability to meet the learning demands of the qualification.
interpersonal communication and personal presentation skills required to work effectively in the Clothing Industry.
a basic knowledge of, and interest in, the industry sector.
an understanding of the typical daily work roles for a career in the industry sector.
ability to comply with the security/safety standards required by workroom regulations.
sufficient verbal & written language skills to understand, communicate and carryout basic instructions within the training environment.
basic computer skills.
TAFE Tasmania has support available to help students who may have difficulty meeting the above requirements. Some of these skills may be improved through the learning process.
