'' This is an in -service qualification and is aimed at people with work experience in the sector, but who are looking to move into a L4/team leader/key worker position.
This course will equip you to provide training and support to people with disabilities to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence and community participation. It also prepares you for the role of a team leader or supervisor which may involve assessing client needs, planning support, supervising a work team and co-ordinating administration.
Career opportunities include Disability Support Worker, Key Worker, Team Leader, Senior Residential Worker. Employment opportunities exist in residential, respite, day option and advocacy services.
Who should enrol in this qualification?
The Certificate IV in Disability Work provides significant choice and flexibility to suit a diverse audience with multiple competency development needs operating in a wide range of Disability Sector environments. For example, Students may:
Currently be working as Support Workers and have some units of competency from a previous qualification
Wish to complete one or more units as professional development without gaining the full qualification
Have Certificate III in Disability Work and want to extend or develop further competence
Have another qualification (eg Community Services) and want to up-skill in Disability Work.
