'' Did you know it is a legislative requirement (AS2865) that anyone working in, on or around a confined space has the appropriate training?
AS2865 is an Australian Standard that provides guidance in eliminating or minimising the need to enter confined spaces and avoiding exposure to hazards, which may be experienced where entry to a confined space is necessary.
In addition to complying with legislation, you and your employees will be trained in:
hazard identification and control measures,
risk assessment,
personal protective equipment (PPE),
Emergency evacuation procedures,
permits and isolators,
management consultation and implementation,
alternatives to entry,
OH&S philosophy and practices,
safety and rescue equipment and your responsibilities under the Act.,
use of Open circuit Breathing Apparatus.
The Institute of TAFE Tasmania is offering nationally accredited courses, which complies with AS/NZ 2865:2001 and AS/NZ 1715-1716 and the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 and supporting Regulations 1998.
Outcome
Certificate of Competency to AS2865 Working in Confined Spaces. The training must be re-done annually.
